Entering the activation code

Activation types, where to enter the code, and what the error messages mean.

Standalone key: issued for one device code, and works on that device only.
Cloud code: for a cloud account, activated on each device separately.
Phone linked to the computer: no activation needed, it follows the computer's license.

Where to enter it

Standalone: open the License screen (or press Activate in the limit window). It shows the device code; the key is issued for that code.
Paste the key and press Activate. No internet needed.
Cloud: after signing in to the account, the Cloud activation screen appears; enter the code.

If the code is refused

Key for another device: check that the device code is the one shown on the License screen.
A cloud code does not activate standalone, and a standalone key does not activate cloud.
A cloud code must be activated within 7 days of being issued.
A new cloud code on the same device cancels the old one for good.
